Celtics Without Multiple Starters for Sunday's Wizards Game

The last time these two faced off, the Wizards nearly pulled off an upset at TD Garden, where the Celtics have only lost three times this season.

Sunday evening in the nation's capital, the Boston Celtics, an NBA-leading 52-14, face the team at the opposite end of the spectrum. The Washington Wizards, 11-56, are last in the league standings.

But when these two matched up at TD Garden shortly before the All-Star break, the visitors gave the hosts all they could handle. Washington, who entered that game averaging 114.5 points, came within two possessions of a massive upset in a 133-129 loss.

Perhaps the Celtics were guilty of looking ahead to their upcoming vacation that night. Their injury report for Sunday's rematch could have a comparable effect.

Boston's ruled out Kristaps Porzingis for a fifth straight contest due to a right hamstring strain. With this being the first half of a back-to-back, meaning Al Horford won't be available on Monday, perhaps the seven-foot-three center returns when the C's are back on their parquet vs. the Detroit Pistons. If not, he could rejoin the lineup for Wednesday's tilt against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Derrick White is also inactive for Sunday's game, with a left-hand sprain sidelining him. Jaylen Brown will not play either because of a right ankle sprain.

But five-time All-Star Jayson Tatum is available. The Celtics initially listed him as questionable for their matchup against the Wizards due to a right ankle impingement.
