The Boston Celtics picked up just their third home loss of the 2023-24 regular season against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday. The Lakers were undermanned, considering arguably the team's two best players in LeBron James and Anthony Davis did not suit up for Los Angeles.

A sloppy first quarter dug the Celtics in an early hole that they couldn't climb out of. Boston committed nine turnovers in the opening frame alone.

But Celtics star big man Kristaps Porzingis didn't express much concern when talking to the media after the game.

"This is the NBA," Porzingis said. "This is almost like a script. You’re going to lose this type of game and fans are going to think it’s the end of the world, and we lost to the Lakers without AD and LeBron, like, end of the season. Boom. Done. But it’s just a loss. It’s just a loss which we have to learn from. And which we will. We’re going to get a couple days rest which I think a lot of guys especially will be really useful for and we bounce back hungry and full energy.”

The Celtics have three games remaining on their home stand, as they will host the Memphis Grizzlies on Feb. 4, Atlanta Hawks on Feb. 7 and Washington Wizards on Feb. 9.
