On Thursday, the Maine Celtics announced Blaine Mueller as their next head coach. The Wisconsin native is the ninth head coach in the franchise’s history.

Prior to his hiring, Mueller had been involved with the Milwaukee Bucks since 2018. He served as a player development coach during the Buck’s championship run in 2021 and took on the role of assistant coach in 2022.

Joe Mazzulla, head coach of the Boston Celtics, commented on Mueller joining their G-League affiliate team.

“Blaine is a great addition to our staff and is ready to lead the Maine Celtics,” said Mazzulla. “He brings great enthusiasm and knowledge off the court, and on the court is deliberate, energetic, and will build strong relationships with the players.”

Maine’s roster will include the likes of JD Davidson, Jay Scrubb, and Neemias Queta. Their 2023-2024 G-League season opener is set for November 10th.
