Celtics All-Star Gets Brutally Honest on Embarrassing Clippers Loss

Jrue Holiday didn't mince words on the embarrassing loss.

On Saturday night, the LA Clippers absolutely embarrassed the Boston Celtics. The Clippers were on the second night of a road back-to-back and somehow led by as many as 36 points against the Celtics before winning by 19. It was a moment that shocked both Celtics fans and players.

After the game, Celtics point guard Jrue Holiday didn't mince words when speaking on the loss.

“A good old-fashioned a*s-whooping,” Holiday said. “They did everything better: Rebounding, transition, 50/50 balls, it seemed like they were a step ahead.”

While the Celtics were missing some good looks, the Clippers were as well. Both teams were cold from three, the only difference was that LA chose to attack the paint after Celtics' misses. Jrue believes the misses affected their defense and allowed the Clippers to consistently attack.

“Honestly, I think especially at first, we had a lot of good shot," Holiday said. "Lot of wide-open shots. Missed them,” Holiday said. “I think sometimes that kind of affects our defense, but at the end of the day, you still have to take them. Even when they’re not falling it looks bad, but you just have to have the confidence to keep going out there and shooting them.”

After the Celtics embarrassed the Clippers on their home floor, it was only right that LA returns the favor. The series is now tied and finished at 1-1, and the next time these two teams could meet would be on a much bigger stage.
