Lakers Legend Gets Honest About James Harden to Clippers Trade

Lakers legend Derek Fisher attended Clayton Kershaw's PingPong4Purpose event

Los Angeles Lakers legend Derek Fisher attended Clayton and Ellen Kershaw's 10th annual PingPong4Purpose event at Dodgers Stadium on Thursday. Speaking exclusively with AllClippers, Fisher was asked about the possibility of James Harden moving from the Philadelphia 76ers to the LA Clippers.

"Yeah, I mean I'm really sensitive Ty Lue's situation there," Fisher said. "Like as a coach, I'm sure he wants to put a team of guys together that he feels like are gonna be available and that he can go out and coach and help him win, whether it would be a better fit or not - James has been more available than Kawhi and Paul, regardless of how you feel about James's game. So to some degree, it may work better, even if when healthy Paul and Kawhi are clearly two of the best players, and top 10 players in the league. It's a really tough call, but those are the calls that you get paid to make at that level. And, you know, Lawrence Frank does a great job there. I mean, they have a great group with the Clippers as well, so they'll figure it out."

Kershaw's PingPong4Purpose event benefits his charity, Kershaw's Challenge, which has raised over $20M for vulnerable and at-risk children in Los Angeles, Dallas, Zambia, and the Dominican Republic since the charity began in 2011.

Fisher also spoke about what it meant to attend an event that makes an impact like this, saying, "Clayton and his wife have done phenomenal work off the field. So for us to be able to show up here tonight... we were really excited when this invite came through, and we were actually able to show up for them and be here with them, so we're excited to be here."
