NBA Scout Reveals How Clippers Have Changed With James Harden

James Harden has transformed the Clippers

The LA Clippers were already a great basketball team without James Harden. Now that they've finally figured out it with Harden on the team, they're a terrifying basketball team.

After starting out 0-5 with James Harden, the Clippers have gone 15-5 with Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, and Paul George in the starting lineup. Two of those losses came most recently against the Oklahoma City Thunder and Boston Celtics with Kawhi Leonard injured. Regardless, the team has been near unstoppable during their nine-game winning streak.

Chris Herring from ESPN wrote a very detailed piece explaining how James Harden transformed the LA Clippers into legitimate title contenders, where he interviewed NBA executives and scouts for their opinions.

"There's more rhyme and reason to what they're doing," the scout said to ESPN's Chris Herring. "They go one-on-one a lot still, but they have the ability to play quick, too, because they can space you out so much. With an A-1 passer like Harden, they can hurt you in more ways now than they could before."

The ways that the Clippers can punish a team with their healthy starting lineup is just devastating now. Even with Terance Mann's cold shooting streak, the Clippers can still make a team pay in just about every single way. Combined with their bench's ability to keep the scoring push going, the onslaught never really ends.

The biggest question marks for the Clippers are going to be how they handle size, and how they handle an explosive young point guard. Even with those questions in mind, their nine-game winning streak was against some very impressive teams that were nothing to scoff at.
