Paul George Reveals Regret After James Harden Made History
Typically, when an NBA player or coach makes history, his teammates or coaches celebrate it in the locker room. When James Harden became the 24th player in NBA history to score 24,000 points, no one in the Clippers locker room celebrated - a moment that Paul George regretted.
On last week's episode with Podcast P, Paul George revealed that he regretted not celebrating James Harden's historic feat.
"Yeah, we didn’t necessarily celebrate either," George said. "You know everybody congratulated him and was happy for him and proud for him…thinking of it now we should have had more of a moment, should’ve had the water, champagne, you know water shower in the locker room, we should’ve done something for him, thinking about it now.”
In all honesty, James Harden didn't make too much of scoring 24,000 points himself. When he was interviewed about the feat by AllClippers, Harden severely downplayed it. In all likelihood, the Clippers didn't celebrate the moment because Harden himself didn't celebrate the moment.
While it's regrettable that the Clippers didn't celebrate James Harden scoring 24,000 points, it's a great sign that Paul George regrets not doing so. It shows that the team cares about celebrating each other's wins, and wants to make sure they keep doing it moving forward. Game by game, the chemistry of this Clippers team has been increasing, and the results on the court show it. The moments of joy are there for everyone to see now.
