Former NBA Superstar Shares Harsh Truth After Ja Morant Flashes Gun

In this story:
The Memphis Grizzlies have suspended Ja Morant for at least the next two games, as the team will be without their star point guard against the LA Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers. It is unclear if the Grizzlies plan to extend Morant's absence beyond these two games, or if the NBA will take action, but he will not be on the Los Angeles road trip.
Former NBA superstar DeMarcus Cousins weighed in on the situation with a Tweet, saying this is why teams need more veterans in the locker room:
Hope this shows the importance of REAL VETS in the locker room. No young team should be without multiple veterans on the roster.

This has been an ongoing debate for a while now, as former stars are often pushed out of the league earlier than they feel they should have been. While former stars like DaMarcus Cousins do not project to offer much on the floor at this stage of their careers, Cousins seems to be making the case that veterans do still help guide young players, and help them avoid mistakes like the one Ja Morant just made.
This will be a very interesting situation to follow, because it seems as if the Grizzlies acted quickly to leave Morant home for this Los Angeles road trip, and may still revisit further punishment. The NBA is also investigating the situation, and could come up with their own punishment as well.
Needless to say, Morant has to be smarter than this.
