In an official injury update announcement on Tuesday afternoon, the Memphis Grizzlies revealed the following:

"The Memphis Grizzlies today announced the following medical updates for wing Ziaire Williams and guard Derrick Rose: Williams has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 strain of hip flexor and low back muscles, which he sustained in overtime of the March 2 game against the Portland Trail Blazers. He will be re-evaluated in four weeks. Rose has been diagnosed with right osteitis pubis after he exited during the second quarter of the February 28 game against the Minnesota Timberwolves with low back and groin soreness. He will be re-evaluated in three weeks. Further updates will be provided as appropriate."

These are disappointing updates, especially when considering how depleted the Grizzlies already are. For Rose, he has dealt with multiple different injuries this season, and will now begin rehabbing another. For Williams, he has been trying to use this opportunity to establish himself at the NBA level, and will now be out several weeks.

It has been a frustrating season for the Grizzlies, but there have still been some silver linings with the emergence of players like GG Jackson, Vince Williams Jr., and others. Looking ahead to next season, the Grizzlies should be back in the playoff mix if they can stay much healthier than they did this season.
