Ja Morant Sends Message With New Shoe Release
Ja Morant's Nike Ja 1 shoes have quickly become one of the most popular basketball sneakers around. With several different color-ways having already released, Morant and Nike have been meeting the demand for the popular sneakers. Recently unveiling a new edition of the Ja 1, Morant and Nike revealed the "No Smoke" edition, which features a message that reads, "We ain't ducking no smoke."
This became somewhat of a catchphrase for Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies last season, and the star point guard is now sending that message with his new Ja 1 shoe release.
While some speculated Nike may move away from Morant after his second gun video incident, the brand has stood by him while he works to change his behavior. It has been encouraging to see the Grizzlies star continue to release shoes, workout with teammates, and make occasional public appearances this summer, as he seems to have re-centered his focus on the positive things around him.
With all that has gone on with Morant over the last year, the Grizzlies star has a lot of work to do, but certainly won't be changing who he is as competitor. Still one of the best talents in the NBA, Morant will continue to attack basketball the way he has his entire career, which includes not "ducking any smoke" like his new shoes communicate.
