The Memphis Grizzlies announced four roster moves on Saturday, which included the announcement that the team was waiving former first round pick of the Houston Rockets Josh Christopher. The Grizzlies acquired Christopher as part of the sign and trade that sent Dillon Brooks to Houston, but clearly felt they had no use for the 24th overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft.

On their announcement, the Grizzlies wrote the following:

"Christopher (6-4, 215) has appeared in 138 regular season games (four starts) and has averaged 6.9 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 15.4 minutes since he was selected by the Houston Rockets with the 24th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Memphis acquired the 21-year-old California native from Houston on July 8."

In this same announcement, the Grizzlies announced the team also waived Isaiah Todd, and signed Matthew Hurt and Mychal Mulder. Per team policy, the Grizzlies did not reveal details of the contracts that were signed, but most deals signed around this time - especially for players with limited experience, are training camp deals. Taking a look at two new players, the Grizzlies will likely give both Mulder and Hurt a chance to compete for roster spots.

This is a big season for the Grizzlies, and they will use their training camp to decide who fits best on the roster and in certain roles.
