Oklahoma City Thunder Star Suffers Injury vs Grizzlies

One player did not return in the second half.

The Oklahoma City Thunder entered tonight's game against the Memphis Grizzlies fully healthy, but despite the win, they didn't finish the night fully healthy.

Jalen Williams suffered an ankle injury during the game and did not return to play in the second half. The injury was an incredibly unfortunate freak accident as it was caused by stepping on a cameraman.

Despite the injury, the Thunder still trounced the Memphis Grizzlies 124-93. However, that shouldn't mitigate just how important Jalen Williams is to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

This season, Jalen Williams is averaging 19.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.5 assists on 54/45/82 shooting. Williams' ability to space the floor and offensive presence has been paramount to the Thunder's ability to win games.

As a team, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been relatively healthy all season. Jalen Williams has played in 57 of 63 total games for the team, and that healthiness is a huge reason for the team's success.

For as healthy as the Oklahoma City Thunder have been this season, the Memphis Grizzlies have been the exact opposite. The Grizzlies had an astounding 12 players listed on their NBA injury report today against the Thunder, and have easily been the most injured team in the NBA this season. In fact, the Grizzlies had their 28th player play for the team this season - tying a franchise record.
