How Did The Season Series Play Out Between The Miami Heat And Philadelphia 76ers?

The Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers will play each other in the Play-In Tournament

The Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers will play Wednesday night with the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference on the line.

Both teams finished their regular seasons on Sunday. The Heat defeated the Toronto Raptors 118-103. The 76ers beat the Brooklyn Nets 107-86. The 76ers (47-35) finished the season with the seventh-best record in the East. The Heat (46-36) ended the year with the eighth-best record in the East.

The two teams will play on Wednesday in the Play-In Tournament in order to decide who will face the second-seeded New York Knicks in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

But how did these two teams fare against each other during the regular season?

The first time the Heat and 76ers saw each other during the season was on Christmas. The Heat won 119-113 behind the best game of Jaime Jaquez Jr.’s short NBA career. Jaquez scored a career-high 31 points and also grabbed ten rebounds.

The Heat won the second matchup of the season as well 109-104 in February. Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, and Duncan Robinson all scored 20+ points while Tyrese Maxey led a Joel Embiidless-76ers team with 30 points.

The 76ers took the third game of the season series 98-91 in March. Both teams were depleted, but another 30-point game from Maxey was too much for the Heat. This was also the first time Kyle Lowry had played against the Heat since being traded in January for Terry Rozier. Lowry had 16 points in the game.

The 76ers also won the fourth and final matchup of the season. The 76ers won the April 4th game 109-105. In Embiid’s second game back from injury, he scored 29 points. Maxey also had 37 points, 11 assists, and nine rebounds in the win.

Both teams are at the healthiest they have been since the start of the season entering the Play-In Tournament. The Heat and 76ers will face off at the Wells Fargo Center Wednesday night at 7.
