Joy Taylor Launches 'Two Personal' Podcast With Taylor Rooks

Joy Taylor and Taylor Rooks collaborate on a podcast debuting March 6.

Sports media personality Joy Taylor announced she will be creating a podcast with renowned colleague Taylor Rooks. The podcast, titled “Two Personal,” will feature the two discussing topics away from just sports.

Taylor is the sister of Hall of Fame linebacker/defensive end Jason Taylor, who played for the Miami Dolphins for more than 10 seasons. She is also a fan of the Miami Heat.

But Taylor said she wanted the podcast for topics away from just sports.

“[Women] aren’t just sitting around talking about Housewives,” Taylor said. “Sometimes we do, or we talk about our nail color. But sometimes we’re also talking about our childhood trauma, sometimes we’re talking about business, sometimes we’re talking about deep cultural things that influences how we feel about ourselves. And the patriarchy. Anyone who’s friends with me knows at some point in the dinner conversation, I’m gonna bring up the f****** patriarchy.”

Rooks echoed the same sentiments, saying she wants to give a platform to female media sports personalities outside of their primary occupation.

“I believe that we have not been given the space to talk about things outside of sports, whereas other people have,” Rooks said. “Specifically men, can have entire shows where they can literally talk about what kind of butts they like, they talk about the kind of women they like, they talk about the men that they hate. By name. And women have not been given the space to be able to just speak.”

The first episode premieres on March 6.
