Miami Heat's Tyler Herro Has The Clutch Gene

Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra praises Tyler Herro for his fourth-quarter play

Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro has always had a knack for showing up in the clutch.

He proved that in Sunday's victory against the Detroit Pistons. After struggling early, Herro scored 12 points in the fourth quarter. He was 4 of 5 from the field, making both of his 3-pointer attempts.

When Herro plays this way in the clutch moments, it eases the load on forward Jimmy Butler.

“I’m just going to write fourth quarter on every notepad to Tyler in every other quarter, because he has that clutch gene, he really does,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. “It doesn’t matter what’s happening during the course of the game. He’s a killer down the stretch. He loves those moments. He lives for those moments. He’ll knock some really tough shots down in those moments.”
