Should The Miami Heat Pursue Pascal Siakam At The Trade Deadline?

The Miami Heat could act as a potential suitor for Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam, who is expected to be moved prior to the trade deadline

The Miami Heat are never counted out as championship contenders, but that doesn't mean the organization should ignore potential acquisitions.

Dejounte Murray (Atlanta Hawks), Pascal Siakam (Toronto Raptors), and Mikal Bridges (Brooklyn Nets) are among the stars involved in trade rumors.

ESPN's Tim Bontemps recently reported, "League sources expect Toronto to move on from two-time All-Star forward Pascal Siakam before the trade deadline."

It's apparent Miami could use some assistance in taking down the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks in the postseason. The addition of Siakam would grant them an advantage over Milwaukee while leveling the playing field with Boston. However, it should not come at the price of trading away star guard Tyler Herro.

Herro has made strides on both ends of the floor, but has struggled to stay healthy. If Toronto is willing to accept an offer that doesn't include Herro or rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr., then Miami should make the move.

Siakam would provide an additional offensive engine alongside Herro and Bam Adebayo. He is averaging 22.4 points and 6.6 rebounds on 52.1 percent shooting. Not to mention, the two-time All-Star has experience in the playoffs. He was a pivotal piece of the Raptors 2019 NBA title alongside Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry.

A frontcourt of Siakam and Bam Adebayo could compete with the best big-men tandems in the NBA. The Minnesota Timberwolves are regarded as having the league's top frountcourt pairing in Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert. Teams with a lone superstar center would struggle against Miami due to the overwhelming number of scoring options.
