Score Predictions for Hornets vs. Cavaliers

Our staff picks tonight's game between Charlotte and Cleveland.

After falling to the Cleveland Cavaliers 115-92 two days ago, the Charlotte Hornets get a chance at revenge, hosting the Cavs Wednesday night in Uptown. Here is how our staff sees tonight's game going.

Pat Fitzsimmons: Cavaliers 111, Hornets 96.

The Hornets can’t score more 100+ points and even with no Mitchell for the Cavs, they had no problem outscoring this Hornets team by 23 on Monday. Maybe it improves slightly playing at home for the Hornets, but I’m not optimistic. The Hornets are seemingly playing for improved lottery odds at this point.

Prediction record: 5-2.

Sam Dracula: Cavaliers 110, Hornets 90.

Here we go again. I have no reason to believe this Charlotte team has the fight or manpower to avenge Monday’s loss. They were dominated on the glass and Cleveland seemingly got every shot they wanted. I expect more of the same tonight.

Prediction record: 8-1.

Ian Black: Cavaliers 107, Hornets 95.

The fire power simply isn’t there on the offensive end with this current iteration of the lineup. Better days are ahead for Charlotte, but tonight likely isn’t one of them.

Prediction record: 15-2.

Atticus Ferguson: Cavaliers 113, Hornets 94.

With this being the last home stand of the season, and coming off 14 of 18 on the road, I actually think Charlotte will come out feeling energized this evening.  Unfortunately, I don’t see that being a sustainable formula for victory.  The Hornets simply cannot matchup with this Cleveland team talent-wise.  Once Charlotte falls behind in this one, I haven’t seen anything recently to indicate that they’ll battle through adversity against a squad with a massive upper hand in talent.

Prediction record: 30-5.
