NBA Eastern Conference Power Rankings - Week of December 4th

Where do the Charlotte Hornets rank this week?

Here are your Eastern Conference Power Rankings for the Week of Dec 4th, 2023.

1. Boston Celtics (15-4) - The Celtics went 3-0 last week, defeating the Hawks, Bulls and 76ers. The Celtics are 14-3 vs Eastern Conference teams to date.

2. Orlando Magic (14-6) - The Magic are 9-2 at home so far this season. The Magic tied a franchise record with their nine-game win streak after defeating Washington on Friday night. But the Nets and 41 points from Mikal Bridges caught the Magic Sunday. Are the Magic for real?

3. Milwaukee Bucks (14-6) - 8-2 over their last 10 games. The Knicks visit the Bucks Tuesday in the in-season tournament quarterfinals, which I've yet to completely understand.

4. Philadelphia 76ers (12-7) - Are the 76ers slumping? 4-6 in their last 10 games and losers of two straight. 76ers get the Wizards twice and Hawks this week, so they get a chance to turn it around.

5. New York Knicks (12-7) - I mentioned in the rankings last week that the Knicks faced the Hornets, Detroit and Toronto and that a 3-0 week could push them up the rankings. Well, Knicks must have read the article because that's exactly what they did. 3-0 week...moved up three spots to No. 5.

6. Indiana Pacers (10-8) - Still one of the highest scoring teams in the league, dropping 144 points in a win vs the Heat on Saturday. The Pacers are the No. 2 seed in the in season tournament?

7. Miami Heat (11-9) - 8-8 vs Eastern Conference teams. 6-6 on the road. 5-5 in their last 10 games.

8. Cleveland Cavaliers (11-9) - Rough week coming up with the Heat, Magic and Celtics this week. Hawks, Wizards and Kings this week give the Cavs another opportunity to move up the rankings.

9. Brooklyn Nets (10-9) - Up two spots from last week, Nets had a 2-1 week with wins over the Raptors and a 28 point win over current No. 2 Orlando.

10. Atlanta Hawks (9-10) - It's not going to get any easier over the next three games for the Hawks as they face the Nets, 76ers and Nuggets.

11. Toronto Raptors (9-11) - Will the Raptors have a fire sale on their roster? Multiple teams keeping an eye on the Raptors roster, primarily on F Pascal Siakam.

12. Charlotte Hornets (6-12) - The Hornets desperately need PG LaMelo Ball. The young guard sprained his ankle on Nov 26th and hasn't played since. The Hornets are 3-7 over the last 10 games.

13. Chicago Bulls (7-14) - The Bulls actually went 2-1 last week, as rumors continue to swirl surrounding the possible trade of G Zach LaVine.

14. Washington Wizards (3-16) - The only reason why the Wizards are not dead last is due to Detroit being in the East. 1-9 in their last 10 games.

15. Detroit Pistons (2-18) - The Pistons are horrible. Currently on a 17-game losing streak. Sheesh.
