These Stats Prove Jazz's Keyonte George Among NBA's Premier Rookies

Utah Jazz fans have a lot to look forward to with Keyonte George.

Utah Jazz rookie point guard Keyonte George has been hitting his stride as of late. George has become increasingly more comfortable finding his spots and running the offense.

He's been one of the premier rookies from the 2023 NBA draft class. Despite being drafted 16th overall by the Jazz, George is right at the top of the list in many rookie metrics.

When it comes to scoring the ball, Keyonte is tied for second with Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder and just behind Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs in most 30-point games by a rookie this season with three total. George is tied again with Holmgren and just behind Brandon Miller of the Charlotte Hornets and Wembanyama when it comes to most 25-point games by a rookie, with a total of five such games.

Not only is George at the top of the scoring ranks among rookies, he’s also at the top in passing. He leads all rookies with games of six or more assists with 20 total.

The next highest is Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson with 17. No other rookie has more than 11. In games with five or more assists, George is also No. 1 with 26 total games. Brandin Podziemski of the Golden State Warriors is second with 21 such games.

In his last 20 games, Keyonte is averaging 15.7 points per game, 4.7 assists per game and 2.8 rebounds per game. To go along with that, he's shooting a blistering 41.5% from three over that span.

Since February 1, Keyonte has an 80.6 EFG% on 3.6 catch-and-shoot field goal attempts per game. In the same time frame he’s shooting 44.4% from three on 7.2 three-point attempts per game, to go along with 5.1 assists per game.

The future is very bright for the young Jazz guard who barely turned 20 back in November. He has given Jazz fans plenty to be excited about going forward and will look to continue his great play throughout Utah’s remaining 17 games of the regular season.
