Jazz-Timberwolves Injury Report: Rudy Gobert Update
The Utah Jazz face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night at the Delta Center. Both teams have key players whose status is up in the air.
Rudy Gobert (ribs), Kyle Anderson (shoulder), and Monte Morris (hamstring) are questionable. As for the Jazz, Lauri Markkanen (quad) is questionable, and Jordan Clarkson (groin) is out.
The Jazz enter the home stretch of the season losers of their last four out of five games. Since the trade deadline, Utah has transitioned its attention to player development over winning basketball, and so far, the results have been good.
Point guard Keynonte George has been leading the way, but Brice Sensabaugh and Taylor Hendricks have also shown flashes as well. Another player to keep an eye on moving forward is newcomer Jason Preston. Preston has some NBA experience and will look to make his case for the backup point guard spot on next year's roster.
Speaking of next year, the speculation that Markkanen could be shut down for the rest of the season can be put to bed. It's unknown whether he’ll play tonight, but expect him to be on the court soon, considering he's been upgraded to questionable. The last time Markkanen played was on March 2nd in a 126-120 defeat to the Miami Heat.
The oddsmakers have the Timberwolves pegged as a 6.5-point favorite, and the tip-off time is 7:00 pm MST.
