Lakers Injury Report: Cam Reddish's Right Ankle Remains A Troubling Sore Spot

When will he return?

Los Angeles Lakers small forward Cam Reddish is still struggling with a sore right ankle.

He missed 14 straight games with his initial ankle injury between January 23rd and February 28th, returned for four contests, sat out one, returned for another, and now was on the shelf for LA's 120-109 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves Sunday.

Per Khobi Price of The Orange County Register, the 6'8" wing continues to deal with "significant soreness" in the ankle. Head coach Darvin Ham indicated that the team will have more intel in a few days, which seemingly suggest Reddish will remain on the shelf at least through Wednesday's road rematch against the Sacramento Kings.

Reddish, 24, is averaging a modest 6.2 points on .406/.343/.771 shooting splits, 2.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest across his 40 healthy games for Los Angeles. It's the first season in LA for the former 2019 lottery pick out of Duke. He signed with Rob Pelinka and co. on a veteran's minimum deal, and has emerged as a good-but-not-great wing defensive option but a frustratingly minimal scorer.

Still, his defense is missed by a Lakers club that has looked fairly porous, defensively, on the wing, with Reddish, Jarred Vanderbilt and Gabe Vincent having all on the shelf for much of 2024.
