Your Los Angeles Lakers are working out a whole new crop of 2023 NBA draft hopefuls today, reports Jovan Buha of The Athletic.

Lakers team vice president of basketball operations/general manager Rob Pelinka is assessing a fresh batch of contenders. One week removed from the club auditioning six future prospects, Los Angeles is once again taking a look at the skillsets of another half dozen young players.

As a refresher, LA possesses the No. 17 pick in the first round and the No. 47 selection in the second round this season. It might behoove the franchise to use both picks, as the club could benefit from some young players under team control with restricted young free agents Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura in line for lucrative new eight-figure salaries.

According to Buha, those players comprise 6'3" Le Portel point guard Nadir Hifi, 6'8" Kansas forward and Big 12 Player of the Year Jalen Wilson (currently projected as the No. 42 selection on Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo's ESPN mock draft), 6'8" All-Mountain West New Mexico center Morris Udeze, 6'2" West Coast Conference Loyola Marymount point guard Cameron Shelton, 6'4" All-Atlantic Coast Conference North Carolina State guard Terquavion Smith (pegged as the No. 41 pick in the ESPN mock draft), and 6'9" two-time consensus All-American Kentucky big man Oscar Tshiebwe.
