Los Angeles Lakers starting center Anthony Davis will be able to join his LA comrades on the hardwood after all.

AD had previously been listed as merely probable to play, as has been the case ever since he returned from his five-and-a-half week absence from the court due to a right foot stress injury.

Now, per the Lakers' official Twitter account, the eight-time All-Star and NBA 75th Anniversary Team inclusion will be officially available to do battle with the visiting New York Knicks.

Los Angeles will of course be without All-Star small forward LeBron James and 3-and-D backup big Mo Bamba, both still on the shelf for multiple weeks with foot injuries. Two-way players Cole Swider and Scotty Pippen Jr. are with LA's G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, and will not play.

The Knicks are missing starting point guard Jalen Brunson and two-way players Duane Washington Jr. and the just-signed Trevor Keels.

As Marc Stein notes, Los Angeles has not possessed a .500 record since the club was 24-24 in January 2022, with an almost entirely different supporting cast around stars Davis and James. A victory this evening would return the team to that status, at 34-34. But New York is hungry for a win too, having lost its last three in a row.
