Lakers News: LA Now Favored To Reach NBA Finals In Vegas

Your Los Angeles Lakers, the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a 43-39 record, are now the odds-on favorites to advance to the NBA Finals in the West, per Arash Markazi of The Sporting Tribune and Marc Stein. Markazi notes that Los Angeles is a 4/1 favorite to return to the Finals for the first time in three years.
The Denver Nuggets, currently knotted up in a 2-2 second round series against the Phoenix Suns, are next in the conference at 17/4, followed by LA's current foe, the Golden State Warriors. It's interesting that the reigning champs are not favored, but to be fair, these odds were released after LA had taken a 2-1 series edge.
Who does Las Vegas favor to emerge out of the East, you ask?
An old LA nemesis: the 57-25 Boston Celtics, the remaining team with the best record still in the playoffs (i.e. they'll have home court in any series going forward). Boston is currently tied in its ongoing series against the Philadelphia 76ers, thanks to two insane 40+ point vintage James Harden games. The Celtics are the overall favorites to win the whole bag, at 5/4 odds in Vegas.
