Lakers News: Austin Reaves Developing Great On-Court Chemistry Off Bench With East All-Star

They are quite the duo!

Team USA took quite the different approach this time around when it came to assembling their roster for the 2023 FIBA World Cup and extended invites to a number of the NBA's most versatile and young stars. When looking at Mikal Bridges and Jalen Brunson, they have been climbing the rankings steadily when it comes to the top players list over the past few years as their impact on winning is clear. Anthony Edwards is the clear alpha of the team and the most gifted star in terms on athleticism and scoring so he should get the ball in close games along with former Lakers lottery pick Brandon Ingram.

However, Austin Reaves is definitely going to get his production whenever he steps on the court and we already watched him do so against Puerto Rico in their first exhibition match. He is the type of player that can adjust to any role depending on who's on the floor with him.

In fact, the 25-year-old guard has been closely studying the rising stars that have been suiting up alongside him and monitoring how they approach each international game. Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers specifically has been someone he's enjoyed playing with.

“I think it’s really just playing basketball,” Reaves said. “You got guys like [Haliburton], and he knows how to play the game. It makes it a lot easier for you. So it’s really just about making the right play.”

Haliburton and Reaves actually do have some similarities within their games when you think about how they both push the pace and can create their own shots! Obviously, Haliburton is more of a traditional guard but I'm very excited to see how these continue to pair on the court together!
