Lakers News: D'Angelo Russell Responds To Constant Trade Rumors

Russell is the prime candidate to be moved at the trade deadline.

With the NBA trade deadline approaching, the Los Angeles Lakers are expected to be one of the more active teams across the association. Los Angeles has been linked with multiple names already, and the front office is looking to make an impactful move much like last season.

The year hasn't turned out the way that anyone would have hoped, so something needs to be done. The Lakers do have a few pieces that could be of interest to opposing teams, with point guard D'Angelo Russell being the prime candidate to be moved at the deadline.

Russell has been traded a few times throughout his career, so he understands that this is a business at the end of the day. But he also has stated that it's not an ideal situation to have his name flying all over in rumors, TNT's Chris Haynes reports.

Once the trade deadline is over, everything will become more clear. Russell will either be playing elsewhere, or he can focus on helping the Lakers down the stretch of the season.

Russell hasn't let all of the rumors get to him, as he has been enjoying the best few weeks of his season recently. He has been playing his game and letting everything come to him.

It has made the Lakers possibly rethink moving on from him at the deadline. However, it does feel like he will be moved ultimately.

All Russell can do is put himself into a good position with his play on the court, whether that is with Los Angeles or another team. He has done a great job so far and hopefully will keep up the stellar play going forward.
