Lakers News: Kentucky University Lands Exclusive Kobe Bryant Sneaker Partnership

Some huge moves!

There has been a ton of exciting news surrounding the future of Kobe Bryant's signature sneaker line and following the new agreement between Vanessa Bryant and Nike, plenty of shoes will be coming out in the near future that have hit shelves before and some that will be introduced to the world for the first time as well.

In this modern era of basketball shoes, Kyrie Irving, Paul George and James Harden took over the market but when it came to putting together both looks and comfort, Bryant was definitely ahead of the game. He was able to get the low-cut style popular and then when he started experiencing lower-body injuries late in his career, he worked with Nike's experts to ensure that his sneakers would be able to protect the ankles of players.

On top of the recent report that an exclusive Bryant shoe will be dropping on his birthday, Kentucky University also landed a deal with the 'Mamba' program that will allow them to receive and wear Kobe-themed sneakers and apparel this coming season.

"According to a report from Kentucky Sports Radio, the Kentucky Basketball program has been selected by Vanessa Bryant, the wife of the late Kobe Bryant, to be the first school to partner with Nike and the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation in the “Mamba Program”. The Mamba Program will allow the Wildcats to wear Kentucky-exclusive themed Kobe sneakers and apparel this season. In the future, special uniforms featuring the Mamba logo are a possibility."

Kentucky has a number of the best players in the nation once again such DJ Wagner and Rob Dillingham so it's great to see them land such a huge deal.
