Lakers News: LA Players Unhappy With Anthony Davis All-Star Snub
Thursday was a very positive day for the Los Angeles Lakers. They came back from 14 down in Indiana to escape with a one-point win at the buzzer, and saw Anthony Davis have his best game since coming back from injury, putting in 31 points, 14 rebounds, two blocks, and getting the go-ahead shot and the game-sealing block.
The game concluded a few hours after the NBA announced the All-Star Reserves, and, surprisingly, Davis wasn't among those listed.
Davis definitely had a case to be in the game. Before he went down with his injury — that sidelined him for 20 games — he was getting real MVP and Defensive Player of the Year buzz. However, he was snubbed, and Bleacher Report's Chris Haynes reported that Laker players weren't too thrilled about that on Thursday.
"Lakers players were privately agitated that Davis wasn't named a reserve to the Western Conference All-Star roster on Thursday, sources say."
Davis was less agitated, at least publicly, saying he'd be able to have a little vacation with his family. However, it's nice to hear his teammates were upset, considering Davis was truly an MVP candidate before going with an injury.
Every year there are going to be snubs, and Davis may not have even been the biggest one. But he definitely deserved to be there, and his teammates know that.
