Lakers News: LeBron James Leaves Historic Night Early With Injury
LeBron James became the NBA's all-time leading scorer on Tuesday, hitting a fadeaway jumper from the free-throw line to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
However, the historic night quickly took a turn for the worse. First, the Lakers went down in the game. And then, LeBron got hurt, and went to the bench before it even ended. It appeared to be a right foot injury that forced him to watch the end of the game on the bench.
We'll continue to update you on LeBron's status when we learn more, but for now, we know that he took himself out of the game, and watched the end of it from the bench.
The Lakers' next game is Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks, and they are in desperate need of a victory. Hopefully, LeBron will be good to suit up by then.
LeBron has been ailed by left ankle soreness all year long, so it's important to note that this seemed to be a different injury — one to his right foot. We'll hopefully get an update tomorrow, but for tonight, all the talk will be focused on LeBron's historic night. And rightfully so. Tuesday night was one of the most historic nights in NBA history.
