Lakers News: LeBron James Planning New Netflix Docuseries With NFL Hall Of Fame Quarterback

A new venture off-court.

All-NBA forward LeBron James' Los Angeles Lakers tenure has been nothing but successful both on and off the floor.

A champion back in 2020, at age 38 it makes sense that the veteran has continued to think about his future whenever he decides to retire.

Part of that plan comes with his media empire as he is set to develop a new basketball-themed docuseries alongside a fellow legend in his respective sport.

The format would bring the same approach to the NBA that Omaha’s Quarterback brought to the NFL. The NBA is also expected to be involved in the show, much as NFL Films is a partner on Quarterback. The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the news, says that the show will likely end on Netflix, where Higher Ground has a first-look deal, and where Quarterback emerged as a successful addition to the genre earlier this year.

Netflix took a deep dive into the on and off-field lives of three quarterbacks throughout 2022.

Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota all received time in the spotlight at differing levels of greatness in what turned out to be a hit series.

James now hopes to replicate some of the same success in the NBA sphere.

It remains unknown which players would allow access to such unfiltered thoughts and a deep dive into their personal lives but new eyes on the sport are always a good thing.

James' acting career has met mixed reviews after his Space Jam reboot and several other projects earlier in his career.

Perhaps another producing credit will be more fruitful for the Hollywood superstar both on and off the floor in the near future.
