Lakers News: Reporter Expects LeBron James Will Push Rob Pelinka To Make Trades

A common trend for all Lebron teams.

Los Angeles Lakers superstar forward LeBron James has never shied away from voicing what type of team he wants around him throughout his career.

From teammates to coaches and specific trade targets, the veteran forward always speaks his mind to his front offices to get him the proper talent to compete for a title each season.

This year remains no different as LA chases their second championship with James on the roster, a task team president Rob Pelinka may face additional pressure to achieve from the King himself.

"It's not unusual for James to voice his opinion at the trade deadline, a now time-honored tradition that's happened over and over again. Don't expect this season to be any different. James is fully aware of the Lakers' trade assets, a collection that includes either using the 2029 or 2030 first-round pick along with young guards like Max Christie and rookie Jalen Hood-Schifino. New contracts for players like D'Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura and Jarred Vanderbilt could be used to help piece together a trade package as well.If the Lakers aren't playing up to expectations come February (or even if they are) expect there to be some healthy pressure applied to the front office by James as he chases a fifth championship."

James failed to win a championship in his first stint with his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers and left to form his own contender in Miami as a result.

Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh helped him win two of four titles but the 2014 season showed clear signs of Wade's age.

LeBron then formed another contender in Cleveland with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love after the Cavs dealt Andrew Wiggins at his command.

LA saw no different after the four-time MVP dealt away the Lakers' young core for Anthony Davis from New Orleans.

It's hard to say that James' strategy hasn't worked throughout his career and Swartz expects no different in what could be his final season.
