New Kendrick Nunn Update Proves Lakers Won 2023 NBA Trade Deadline

Rob Pelinka pulled off quite the move!

The Los Angeles Lakers were able to pull up smart move after smart move at the 2023 trade deadline and completely revamp their roster. It was clear that the direction in which the team was going with their original lineup was not going to work due to financial issues and lack of spacing but with the arrival of D'Angelo Russell, Jarred Vanderbilt and Rui Hachimura.

But Hachimura would not have ended up in the purple and gold if GM Rob Pelinka did not work his magic by parting ways with a number of second round picks and Kendrick Nunn. Nunn was supposed to be a great form of offense for the Lakers after he broke out with the Miami Heat as an un-drafted player.

Unfortunately, Nunn never panned out for the Lakers due to a knee injury that kept him off the court for quite some time. When he was able to suit up. he averaged around six points and less than an assist in 39 games and completely fell out of the rotation. He found his way to the Wizards in exchange for Hachimura where he was able to average seven points on about 41 percent from three.

And now it appears that Nunn could be out of the NBA soon as a Greek professional club, Olympiacos Piraeus, are displaying heavy interest in him. On the flip side, Hachimura cashed in on a three-year deal with LA worth $51 million.

Therefore, it's safe to say that LA clearly won this trade... Rob Pelinka continues his reign as an elite executive.
