Magic SG Jalen Suggs: 'What We're Building Here is Special'

The Orlando Magic sit in the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference, and that is not where many expected them to be this season.

The Orlando Magic has surprised a lot of people this season with how well it has played, as the team is currently in the playoff picture.

The team is currently in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings and is closing in on the teams ahead of it. Guard Jalen Suggs talked about the team and the city of Orlando as a whole in a recent interview with sports radio host Jim Rome.

"What we're building here is special," Suggs said. "The city of Orlando deserves it. We just wanna bring them wins, bring them joy and really show out for the city for all the love and support that they’ve given us through the ups and downs."

The Magic has already matched its win total of 34 from last season with the most recent win against the Utah Jazz, and the team could not be prouder. In just his third season as head coach of the Magic, Jamahl Mosley has turned the team around with his coaching philosophy and emphasis on team chemistry.

The team is currently just a half game back from the fifth place Philadelphia 76ers, and one game back from the fourth place New York Knicks. If the Magic can keep up its solid play now that Paolo Banchero is back from his illness, the team could move up in the standings before the end of the season.

The Magic will be back in action on Sunday at home against Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. ET from the Kia Center.
