DALLAS — As Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic continued preparation for the Slovenian national team ahead of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, the team's latest performance was a 104-100 victory over Nikola Vucevic's Montenegro squad.

Doncic finished with an impressive 34 points, 13 rebounds, and 14 assists in what was his second triple-double in just the three exhibition games since participating with Slovenia.

With Slovenia having lost Vlatko Cancar to a torn ACL, the team utilized Doncic more on the wing to provide more depth in the frontcourt. The team has become thin in that regard, but did gain big man Mike Tobey for this game.

"A lot of things just stand out," Slovenian national team coach Aleksander Sekulic said on Monday, via Sportklub Slovenija. "Among other things, our advantage is that Luka can cover as many as four playing positions with his body, both in defense and in attack. That could be the solution.

"But I wouldn't neglect other basketball players, specially young guys," Sekulic explained. "The problem that arises is the lack of experience at the highest level. At the WC, we will play against the best in the world."

Doncic's full highlights can be viewed in the embedded YouTube video below. Subscribe to my channel for more content about Doncic and the Mavs throughout the FIBA World Cup and the 2023-24 NBA season.

Slovenia now heads to Malaga, Spain, for matchups against Spain and Team USA. The final exhibition matchup will take place against Japan in Tokyo prior to play against Group F in Okinawa.
