Lakers’ LeBron 3-Word Whine on Kyrie Irving Trade to Mavs

In a very sad turn of events, life once again screws LeBron James out of getting every single thing he dreams of as Luka Doncic’s Mavs outbid the Lakers for Kyrie Irving.

DALLAS - The Los Angeles Lakers didn't get Kyrie Irving. The Dallas Mavericks did, winning the trade bidding for the Brooklyn Nets’ gifted-but-controversial star guard.

And poor LeBron James is sad about it all.

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar, who’d made a public (and certainly a private) plea for his management to acquire his old Cavs pal Kyrie, jumped on social media with a three-word whine.

"Maybe It’s Me," he wrote.

Yes, “maybe it’s me” is why LeBron can simply never catch a break in basketball or in life.

Or maybe … the Mavs outfoxed the Lakers.

Or maybe … the Nets thought Irving preferred LA and didn’t want to reward his pout with his wished-for destination.

Yes, LeBron has led a cursed career, starting with him at age 18 being labeled “The One” and then including with but only 19 All-Star Game appearances, 10 conference finals berths and four NBA titles … and one of the most obvious and quick eventual moves into the Hall of Fame.

Life just ain’t fair.

Same with the Los Angeles Lakers, by the way, so often “Maybe It’s Us” screw jobs limiting them to a paltry 17 NBA titles, all along hampered by the limitations of “Maybe It’s Me” jags like Mikan, Baylor, West, Kareem, Magic, Shaq and Kobe.

Star-crossed lovers, is what poor LeBron and the Lakers are.

In any event, Kyrie will be joining the Dallas Mavericks and Luka Doncic as by far Luka’s most talented teammate ever. And “poor LeBron” will be somehow forced to drudge on with the lowly Anthony Davis as his sidekick.

Truly tragic.
