Lakers to Mavs: ‘I’ll F*** You Up!’ Coach Jason Kidd Cites ‘Distraction’

The Mavericks suffered a brutal loss to the Lakers after blowing a 27-point lead. Coach Jason Kidd explains …

DALLAS - The Dallas Mavericks absorbed a brutal 111-108 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers as they blew a 27-point lead Sunday at the AAC, and Mavericks coach Jason Kidd is citing multiple reasons for the crushing loss.

“Got a little distracted by the whistle,” Kidd said. “(Jarred) Vanderbilt kicked our ass.”

The comment from Kidd about distracted by “the whistle”? That is likely all about the altercation that took place between Austin Reaves and Josh Green. … as Reaves of the Lakers seemingly told Green ‘You ain’t s*** … I’ll f**k you up’ after a whistle during the game.

So … there’s a distraction.

Kidd also specifically ID’ed Jarred Vanderbilt as a key player in the favorable outcome for the Lakers.

the built up their big lead, via Tim MacMahon of ESPN. “Vanderbilt kicked our ass.”

Of course, a whole bunch of Lakers kicked around a whole bunch of Mavs in the showcase event. Anthony Davis and LeBron James, in the end, out-dueled Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, and yeah, guys like Reaves and Vanderbilt did the same.

The Mavericks fell to 32-30 with the loss, placing them just a tick ahead of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Utah Jazz and Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference playoff race, and there is much to be fixed.

Rather oddly, Kidd suggested, in a way, that the solution isn’t really about his involvement.

Said Jason Kidd …

“I’m not the savior here. I’m not playing. I’m watching, just like you guys. As a team, we’ve got to mature. … We’ve got to grow up.”

We will work on the assumption that Kidd knows that in truth, the Mavs “growing up” in a way that allows them to overcome “distractions” is indeed part of his job … And that the Mavs might want to hurry up about it.
