Anthony Davis' Injury Status for Lakers vs Nuggets Revealed
The Los Angeles Lakers face off against the Denver Nuggets in an epic rematch of the Western Conference Finals tonight. Even though there's a ton of hype and excitement around the game, the status of Anthony Davis hasn't been fully determined quite yet.
Anthony Davis has been officially listed as questionable with bilateral Achilles tendinopathy and also a left hip spasm. He'll likely be a game-time decision for the Los Angeles Lakers tonight.
This season, Davis is averaging 24.7 points, 12.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.4 blocks, and 1.1 steals on 55/30/81 shooting. There haven't been many players in the NBA this season who are capable of stuffing the stat sheet on both sides of the floor the way Anthony Davis has done. His presence will be tremendously needed against the reigning champion Denver Nuggets, especially against guarding Nikola Jokic.
While the Nuggets are already favored to beat the Lakers tonight, it'll be much more lopsided if Anthony Davis is unable to play. LA will likely have to rely much harder on D'Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves, hoping that both players get on a hot streak from deep.
The Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets have only faced off one time this season, with the Nuggets winning the encounter 119-107. On top of that, Denver is currently on a six-game winning streak against the Lakers. The two teams face off at 10:00 p.m. EST tonight.
