Denver Nuggets Sign New Player in Free Agency

The Denver Nuggets have signed free agent Braxton Key

The Denver Nuggets haven't made too many moves this off-season, but they made one today. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nuggets have signed forward Braxton Key to a two-way contract with the team.

Key has played in the NBA for two seasons, most recently with the Detroit Pistons. Last season, Key only averaged 1.3 points on 3 minutes a game, in only 3 games. However, the season before he averaged 8.6 points and 5.3 rebounds on 21.2 minutes a game. Key was an NBA G League champion this season, on the All-NBA G League Second team last season, and also on NBA G League All-Defensive team last season as well. In his college years, he was an NCAA Champion in 2019,

There is a potential upside to Braxton Key, and his time in the NBA G League has shown it. He's been a champion in both the G League and in college and will be with the reigning NBA Champions. Whether Key receives much playing time remains to be seen, but it's very clear that he's been on teams where he's had to sacrifice.

For those who have been watching NBA Summer League, Braxton Key made some noise when he helped the Dallas Mavericks defeat the Golden State Warriors by flushing a putback dunk in overtime for the win.

The Denver Nuggets have done a good job at finding gems like Christian Braun, hopefully, they found one in Braxton Key, too.
