While Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro may be returning at some point during the NBA Finals, the team has officially ruled him out for Game 2 vs. the Denver Nuggets. Speaking with the media prior to Game 1, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said the following:

"I'm not a math guy, so I'm not good with percentages," Spoelstra said. "[Herro] will not play tomorrow. We don't want to get ahead of ourselves right now. He's still just starting this process, we do have a few days here just to continue his work. I can't even make any kind of proclamation until he takes these next important steps, and that's with contact and doing things more on the court live. We'll just see. We're all encouraged by his progress that he's made, but we want to continue to be responsible and make the best decisions. He's not there yet."

Since this update from Spoelstra, not much has changed. Speaking with the media on Saturday, Miami's head coach said he does not know where the reports came from about Herro potentially being ready for Game 2, and now the Heat guard has officially been ruled out.

With two days off in between Game 2 and Game 3, perhaps this will be the additional time that Herro needs to finally be ready to return to game action.
