In a recent report from Harrison Wind of DNVR Sports, it was revealed that Michael Porter Jr. sprained his ankle during practice and left the gym with a walking boot on his left foot. While the report added this injury was not a major concern, there is still always some level of worry whenever a key player suffers any type of injury.

Speaking with reports on Sunday, Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone gave an injury update on Porter, saying, "He didn't do anything in practice, but the swelling has gone down, he feels a lot better. He was getting treatment all day yesterday, so definitely moving in the right direction. We'll be smart with that moving forward."

Malone finished his answer by joking that Porter took his shirt off and walked around like he loves to do. Laughing with reporters, Malone said he would do the same if he was Porter.

While the Nuggets forward did not do anything in practice, it's great to hear that the swelling has gone down. As the initial report indicated, there is no reason for concern when it comes to Porter needing to miss any significant time with this injury, but it's something the Nuggets are going to be smart about.

With the season right around the corner, the Nuggets are going to make sure Porter is 100% before returning to the court.
