NBA All-Star Reveals Reason For Surprising G-League Move

Isaiah Thomas revealed why he's coming back.

There isn't a basketball player alive right now who wants an NBA comeback more than Isaiah Thomas. Time after time, he's tweeted his desire to play in the league. Now, the 2x NBA All-Star is taking the hardest route possible - going through the G League.

This week, Isaiah Thomas signed with the Utah Jazz's G League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars. In his debut, he put up a game-high 32 points against the Texas Legends. Fresh off the win, he was a guest on FanDuel TV's Run It Back morning show and revealed why he's willing to come back to the league through the G League.

"Ultimately I'm just fighting for an opportunity," Thomas said. "I'm just trying to show teams that I'm still able to produce on the court, but I'm also most importantly, I'm able to teach these young guys."

While Isaiah Thomas has had his fair share of NBA comebacks, there still aren't many people who deserve one like he does. It should never be forgotten how he carried the Boston Celtics in the playoffs through both a hip injury and his sister's death, only to get traded in the following offseason. His story is one of the biggest NBA horror stories of loyalty that still hasn't had the happy ending that so many of his peers want for him.
