NBA Legend Issues Apology to Nikola Jokic

Charles Barkley has issued a formal apology to Jokic and the Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets don't receive anywhere near the level of respect that they deserve, and if there's one person who knows that, it's Charles Barkley.

The NBA on TNT put up a graphic promoting opening night that included LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and Jayson Tatum. The only problem? Jayson Tatum doesn't even play on opening night, and the Denver Nuggets do. None of the Denver Nuggets were included on the graphic, despite having a two-time NBA MVP, having the NBA Finals MVP, and being the reigning NBA Champions.

Once Charles Barkley caught wind of that, he issued an apology fairly quickly.

"You sent me that graphic and I showed it to Ernie [Johnson] and we just want to apologize to the Nuggets, Joker and the city of Denver," Barkley said. "That's completely stupid not having Joker on that graphic. I mean, we're here all day!"

Charles Barkley doesn't deserve the blame for the Nuggets being included in that graphic. If anything, Barkley has been one of the biggest proponents of the Nuggets since last season. He was the only analyst to believe they'd be the first seed and spent all season calling them the best team in the NBA. If there's anyone who's actually been giving the Denver Nuggets the respect they deserve, it's Charles Barkley.

The Denver Nuggets face off against the Los Angeles Lakers on opening night tonight at 4:30 p.m. PST.
