MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani shocked the sports world with his 10-year / $700M contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers that will be heavily deferred to allow Los Angeles to build around him during the next decade. One of the latest prominent sports figures to react to the deal is Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks legend Carmelo Anthony.

Speaking on his 7PM in Brooklyn Podcast, a Wave Sports + Entertainment Original, Anthony said, "The Dodgers’ operations backbone is built off of cable money. So the [$700M] really don't do nothing. This is cable wars. This is streaming wars... He’s worth it… I say you're getting the top two superstars in MLB at one time. You're getting the top pitcher and you're getting the top hitter. The hitter got $350 [million], and the pitcher is getting $350 [million]. I ain’t mad at it. Shoutout to Shohei, man. Wine and dinner is on you, champ. Let’s talk, Shohei."

Ending his answer with a lighthearted message for Ohtani, Anthony asked the Dodgers superstar to connect with him over wine and dinner. Everybody in the sports world seems to want in on what Ohtani and the Dodgers have going on right now, as their new partnership projects to be unlike anything else in baseball history.

The best player in the world, Ohtani is bringing his talents to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
