VIDEO: Nikola Jokic Finally Returns to Serbia After Winning NBA Championship
After what probably felt like an eternity for Nikola Jokic, he's finally returned to his home country of Serbia. Even though Jokic jokingly mentioned that he'd rather be home than at the Nuggets' parade, the Finals MVP showed he had a great time at the parade. Now, he finally gets to do what he truly loves in Serbia - being with horses.
Jokic reunited with his family's horses in his home country of Serbia where he had the chance to watch them compete in races. He was all smiles as he was received with a standing ovation from fans in the crowd; everyone in the crowd had their phones out for a chance to capture a glimpse of their NBA Champion.
Many European players in the NBA often return back to Europe once the season ends, and don't return until it becomes closer to training camp. Nuggets fans should likely expect the same from Nikola Jokic during this off-season. Similar to a player like Kawhi Leonard, don't expect much content from Jokic during this off-season, as he likely just wants to enjoy the peace and tranquility of being back home. If anything, Jokic absolutely deserves that rest and peace of mind this off-season.
The championship week is over for the Denver Nuggets and their fans. For now, it's time to rest and recover until the time to compete for a repeat begins.
