Nikola Jokic Gives Amazing Answer About Denver Nuggets' Goal
Even though the Denver Nuggets haven't been quite as dominant as they've been last season, they're still one of the championship favorites this year. Still, when you ask players on the team who they're chasing in the NBA, their answers will surprise you - especially Nikola Jokic.
When Jokic was on Inside the NBA, he was asked which team in the NBA he's chasing right now, and he revealed that he's chasing the Denver Nuggets of last year.
"We are chasing the Denver Nuggets too," Jokic said. "We want to be better than last year. I think we are capable of being better and to beat that team this year. We are chasing the Denver Nuggets too."
It was a surprisingly thought-provoking and great answer by Jokic that seemed to impress both Kenny Smith and the fans listening at home. Even though the Nuggets don't have the best record in the NBA, they're still the defending champions and shouldn't have to be chasing any other team in the league. Still, they should be chasing the ghost of who they were last season, and being better than that team. That's the type of mindset that can propel a team to stay motivated enough to win a second championship in a row.
It's tough to say who could stop the Denver Nuggets this season, but the top-4 teams in the Western Conference are definitely looking dangerous.
