When you think of Nikola Jokic, the first thing that comes to your mind isn't a shoe brand. Now, that mindset may be changing
It was revealed today that Nikola Jokic has signed a multi-year deal with the Chinese signature shoe brand 361. He'll be a leading global face of the brand and will be joining Aaron Gordon in the shoe company. As of 2020, the brand 361 has over 7,950 retail stores in the world.
This season seems to be a coming-out party for Nikola Jokic now that he's won an NBA Championship. Yes, he won two NBA MVPs before winning a championship, but people still weren't ready to call him the best player in the NBA. Now that Jokic is an NBA Finals MVP, he's starring in commercials for Hotels.com, being unanimously praised as the best player in the NBA, and now even getting his own shoe deals.
The question this creates though, is how much does the narrative change if he wins another NBA Championship? If Nikola Jokic can win two or three NBA Championships, he'll start entering categories of greatest center in NBA history, and that's where the conversations will really get heated. Regardless, fans can't get too ahead of themselves, because the NBA Championship is won one game at a time. The Denver Nuggets still have 52 games left to play.
It's been a big year for Nikola Jokic, and hopefully, this is a sign that things are just getting bigger.
