Nuggets Star Makes Incredibly Bold Statement

Jamal Murray has a very high belief in himself.

Jamal Murray has never made an All-Star time, or an All-NBA team, but that isn't stopping him from believing in himself. In fact, Murray's confidence in himself is through the roof.

In an interview with Melissa Rohlin of FOX Sports, Jamal Murray revealed what his goal is - to be the best player ever.

"And I strive to be the greatest," Murray said. "I want to be the best player ever. Obviously, if you don't shoot high, then you're never going to get there. I think Jokic is the greatest player right now. And I try to be a close second."

To anyone who scoffs at Murray's statement, doesn't understand the nature of competition. Anyone who gets into something at a high level should strive to be the absolute best. If they don't have that level of confidence in themself, then a legitimate conversation needs to be with themselves.

While many wouldn't consider Jamal Murray underrated, he's easily the greatest player to not be an All-Star in the current NBA. During last year's playoffs, Jamal Murray averaged 26.1 points, 7.1 assists, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.5 steals on 47/40/93 shooting. That type of playoff performance is better than what some current All-Stars can do and is definitely in the breath of "best player in the NBA" conversations.

It's time to give Jamal Murray the respect that he deserves.
