WATCH: Nuggets Champion Shares Live Reaction to Damian Lillard Trade
In the middle of an interview when the Damian Lillard trade went down, Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. shared his live reaction while on camera. After asking for all the trade details, Porter said, "That's good... we will see them in the Finals."
Porter also acknowledged the impactful loss of Jrue Holiday, who heads to the Portland Trail Blazers in this deal, but of course admitted how dominant the pairing of Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo will be. As of right now, the very early favorites to meet in the NBA Finals are the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets, but things can always change quickly in this league.
Having just won a championship, Porter rightfully has a lot of confidence in his team. The Nuggets will have to be taken down before most people pick somebody else to win it all, but the Bucks definitely look to be in position to defeat anybody after the addition of Lillard.
Already a dominant team, the Bucks were able to add one of the best point guards of this generation. While Lillard is still looking for his first championship, the Bucks will give him a great opportunity to win one, and certainly a better opportunity than Portland had given him.
For the Nuggets, they will again focus on taking care of their business as they push towards a possible Finals matchup with the new-look Bucks.
