Indiana Pacers to host tenth pre-draft workout on June 8

The Pacers are now up to 10 pre-draft workouts

The Indiana Pacers will have their tenth 2023 pre-draft workout in the St Vincent center on Thursday with six more prospects coming in for a visit.

The team announced that a group of prospects ranging from projected first-round talent to possibly undrafted players will be in Indiana to audition in front of Pacers executives on June 8. It's the Pacers fifth workout this week alone.

The team has five picks in the 2023 NBA Draft, and they are very spread out. Indiana's decision makers need to get a feel for the ability level of players that could be taken at almost any point in the draft.

The six players who will work out for the Indiana Pacers on Thursday are:

  • Tyger Campbell, UCLA
  • Sidy Cissoko, G League Ignite
  • Markquis Nowell, Kansas State
  • Ben Sheppard, Belmont
  • Hunter Tyson, Clemson
  • Jalen Wilson, Kansas

In their most recent mock draft, ESPN has four of those players going in the middle of the second round in Cissoko (pick 40), Sheppard (36), Tyson (50) and Wilson (42).

Sheppard was impressive at the NBA Draft Combine, and his outside shooting in his final season at Belmont was impressive. He averaged nearly 19 points per game as a senior. Cissoko has generated some buzz in this pre-draft cycle as well. He averaged 11.6 points per game for the Ignite.

The Indiana Pacers have the 32nd and 55th picks in the second round, so these players could be in their range. They will hope to prove that they are draftable in their workout on Thursday.
