Indiana Pacers vs Denver Nuggets preview: Start time, where to watch, injury report, betting odds January 14

The Pacers battle the defending champions tonight

The Indiana Pacers continue their road trip as they take on the Denver Nuggets tonight. It's the first matchup between the Pacers and the defending champions this season, and it will be a tough one for Indiana.

Pacers guard Bruce Brown was with the Nuggets last season, so he will receive his championship ring tonight. He's been an important piece for Indiana this campaign. The blue and gold will have to try to find a way to take down Nikola Jokic and the rest of the Nuggets in the altitude — it will be difficult.

Pacers vs Nuggets Injury Report

For the Pacers, Tyrese Haliburton is out with a left hamstring strain. Aaron Nesmith won't play as he is dealing with bilateral shin soreness. Jarace Walker is questionable with an upper respiratory infection. Kendall Brown, Oscar Tshiebwe, and Isaiah Wong are questionable on their two-way contracts.

For the Nuggets, Vlatko Cancar, Jalen Pickett, Julian Strawther, and Hunter Tyson are out. Christian Bruan and Peyton Watson are probable.

Key Matchup

Myles Turner vs Nikola Jokic: Jokic, a former MVP, is one of the toughest players to contain in the NBA. Turner discussed how difficult he is to guard during the offseason. Denver's superstar is averaging 25.5 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 9.2 assists per game this season.

The Pacers starting big man will have to do his best to contain him, though it will be a team effort that requires communication. Turner will also need to hit shots and make Jokic move on defense if Indiana wants to have a chance to win.
